The meeting provided an opportunity to present the academic and community work of Al-Andalusia and, at the same time, to learn about BAZNAS's extensive experience in the large-scale Zakah management. The conversation addressed key issues such as governance models, transparency, social impact and mechanisms to ensure that Zakah effectively reaches those who need it most.

Zakah as a collective responsibility

The BAZNAS experience was evaluated as a referent from which to draw lessons applicable to other environments where the institutionalization of Zakah is still under development.
