Following the recent signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain and the Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain (AISU), a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two universities. International Islamic University Malaysia<\/em> (IIUM), the Rector of Al-Andalusia, Sh. Mohammad Idrissi<\/strong>held a working meeting with the Dean of the University of Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS)<\/em>one of the leading international faculties in the field of Islamic and Human Sciences.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the meeting was to define the first operational steps<\/strong> of the agreement and establish the basis for a progressive and realistic academic collaboration aligned with the strategic vision of both institutions.\"\"<\/p>\n

Priority lines of academic collaboration<\/h4>\n

During the meeting, several areas of cooperation were discussed, the most important of which was the academic faculty exchange<\/strong>. This initiative will allow professors from both universities to participate in training activities, specialized seminars and shared teaching experiences, favoring the academic enrichment of students and intellectual dialogue between different Islamic contexts, such as Europe and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n

Another central focus was the collaboration in curriculum development and review<\/strong>with special attention to the adaptation of Islamic Science curricula to the European context, while maintaining academic rigor and fidelity to the classical sources of Islam. In this sense, the experience of IIUM in the integration between revealed knowledge and human sciences was pointed out as a reference of great value for the educational project of Al-Andalusia.<\/p>\n

Towards a joint master's degree as the first academic project<\/h4>\n

As a possible first tangible result of the MoU, the feasibility of implementing a joint master's program<\/strong> between the two institutions. This program would serve as a pilot project for the collaboration, allowing for the evaluation of models of co-teaching, academic recognition and curricular coordination, with a view to future joint degrees of greater scope.<\/p>\n

The master's degree would be oriented to a advanced training in Islamic Sciences<\/strong>with an international perspective and an approach that combines tradition, critical thinking and contemporary application, consistent with Al-Andalusia's mission to train scholars and religious leaders prepared for the current challenges of European society.<\/p>\n

A strategic step forward in Al-Andalusia's international projection<\/h4>\n

This meeting reinforces the commitment of the Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain to its vision of consolidating its position as a leading Islamic university in Spain. It is also aligned with its mission to promote an Islamic education of excellence based on academic cooperation, teaching quality and community service.<\/p>\n
