The Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain is looking for an Academic Director<\/strong> to coordinate, oversee, and strengthen the overall academic operations of the University.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that training programs are carried out properly, that classes are taught in accordance with established objectives, that faculty members fulfill their teaching responsibilities, and that students receive a well-organized, rigorous education that is aligned with the University\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

This is a key position for ensuring academic quality, improving faculty coordination, strengthening the online campus, and preparing the University for future academic partnerships and accreditation processes.<\/p>\n

Profile required<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are seeking a candidate with academic experience, strong organizational skills, sound pedagogical judgment, and a commitment to the University\u2019s educational, religious, and social mission. The candidate must be able to coordinate faculty, review curricula, monitor course offerings, and propose realistic improvements within a growing institutional context.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Main functions<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Oversee the overall development of the University's academic programs.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate with the Office of the President, deans, program directors, faculty, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Academic Secretariat.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure that classes are held in accordance with the approved academic calendar.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure that each course has clearly defined objectives, content, methodology, assessment, and materials.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor faculty members and ensure they fulfill their teaching responsibilities.<\/li>\n
  • Review the consistency across subjects, grade levels, and programs; identify gaps, overlaps, or inconsistencies.<\/li>\n
  • Coordinate regular academic meetings with professors and department heads.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor academic issues related to classes, instructors, assessments, or students.<\/li>\n
  • Propose improvements to programs, courses, teaching methods, assessment, and academic organization.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with the Internal Quality Assurance System on reports, supporting documentation, and academic indicators.<\/li>\n
  • Support the annual planning of schedules, courses, faculty, assessments, and the academic calendar.<\/li>\n
  • Monitor the quality of online instruction and the virtual campus.<\/li>\n
  • Prepare internal academic reports for the Office of the President.<\/li>\n
  • To contribute to the professionalization and continuous improvement of the University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n

    Requirements<\/h3>\n

    • A college degree or equivalent higher education.<\/li>\n
    • Teaching, academic, or educational coordination experience.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to coordinate faculty and academic teams.<\/li>\n
    • Strong pedagogical judgment and the ability to review curricula.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of instructional planning, assessment, and academic monitoring.<\/li>\n
    • Good oral and written communication skills in Spanish.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to organize, monitor, and resolve issues.<\/li>\n
    • Proficiency in digital tools, virtual learning platforms, or educational platforms.<\/li>\n
    • Commitment to the mission and values of the University.<\/li>\n
    • Availability for in-person meetings and follow-up in Seville as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

      • Experience in higher education, universities, or Islamic educational institutions.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of the Spanish university context and academic quality processes.<\/li>\n
      • Experience in curriculum design, faculty coordination, or academic administration.<\/li>\n
      • Expertise in online teaching, virtual campuses, and hybrid methodologies.<\/li>\n
      • Familiarity with Islamic studies, the Arabic language, or Islamic studies.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of English and\/or Arabic.<\/li>\n
      • Experience working with adult students and higher education programs.<\/li>\n
      • Ability to prepare academic reports, improvement plans, and institutional documentation.<\/li>\n
      • Sensitivity to the Islamic, educational, and community contexts in Spain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
