Al-Andalusia Academy Student Guidelines
PARENTS -OR GUARDIANS- AGREE TO COMPLY WITH AND ENFORCE THE FOLLOWING STANDARDS
- Classes must be paid within the first ten days of each month. The payment schedule will be during the ten minutes after the end of the classes. In case the month has not been paid within the stipulated period, the child will not be allowed to enter class. Exceptions will be taken into account.
- The center will schedule a quarterly parent meeting, attendance at which is mandatory.
- Vacations will coincide with school vacations, so we advise that trips be scheduled according to the official school calendar.
- Parents should ensure that students come to class with their homework done, making them value the education provided at the center, and actively participating in the education of their children.
- Students must attend the entire school year - from September to June - and may not be absent from class, except for a justified cause signed by the parents or guardians and handed in to the teachers. In the event that a child is absent without a signed excuse, he/she will not be allowed to return to class until the parent has spoken to the teacher.
- Students must attend classes punctually. The development of other extracurricular activities (such as English, soccer, etc.) will not have a negative impact on punctual attendance.
- Parents of students must pick them up punctually at the end of class. If for any justified reason they are unable to do so, they must inform the teachers by telephone as soon as the class is over.
- Students may not leave the center without the presence of a responsible adult, and only students over 8-9 years of age -at the teacher's discretion according to their level of maturity- may do so with prior written authorization from a parent/guardian.
- They should come with the required school supplies in a backpack or satchel: textbooks, student's diary, notebooks, two-stripe A4 notebooks and a pencil case that includes: pens (blue or black and red), pencil, eraser and pencil sharpener.
- Students should attend class in appropriate attire as indicated by the teacher; please note that shorts and short skirts are not permitted. It is recommended that both male and female students bring long shirts or blouses. Another important point is the cleanliness of clothing, especially socks and shoes.
- Eating and drinking in class is not permitted without the express permission of the teacher.
- The use of electronic devices or cell phones is not allowed during class, and in any case, they must be in silent mode.
- The student must respect the facilities of the classroom in particular and the center in general, leaving their space clean and tidy at the end of the class.
It will be considered serious misconduct, and may cause the expulsion of the student, the lack of respect to teachers and other classmates (with words or gestures inconvenient), and the intentional damage caused to the furniture and facilities of the center.
The activities developed by the center may be photographed and published -in an educational magazine or on the center's web pages-. In the event that a parent does not agree, he/she should submit a written request that will be attached to the student's file.
The center will not be responsible for the deterioration, loss or theft of students' clothing, footwear or personal belongings, so students should pay attention to their belongings and check that they are wearing everything when leaving class.
The school encourages students to attend special activities scheduled for them, such as end-of-year celebrations, games and contests.
