Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain is looking for a person in charge of Fundraising, Community and Events to strengthen the institution's relationship with donors, collaborators, students, families, volunteers, mosques, Islamic centers, entities and members of the community.

The selected person will play a key role in the sustainable development of the University, supporting donation campaigns, fundraising activities, institutional events, community meetings, campus visits, academic events and relationships with individuals and entities willing to support the project.

This position also includes communication and coordination with mosques, Islamic communities and Muslim entities both in Spain and abroad, with the aim of presenting the university project, organizing collaborations, promoting support campaigns and fundraising for the University.

Profile required

We are looking for a communicative, organized, responsible and people person. You should have institutional sensitivity, an understanding of the University's mission and the ability to build trust with donors, families, students, volunteers, mosques, Islamic communities and collaborators.

You must be able to combine community proximity with professionalism, knowing how to organize events, follow up on contacts, present projects with clarity and maintain long-term relationships.

He/she must also be available to travel when necessary, both within Spain and outside Spain, to represent the University in meetings, events, community visits, institutional presentations and fundraising campaigns.

Main functions

  • Support the design, planning and execution of fundraising campaigns.
  • Identify potential donors, collaborators, sponsors, mosques, Islamic centers and support entities.
  • Maintain a close, professional and ongoing relationship with current and potential donors.
  • Establish and maintain communication with mosques, Islamic communities, associations and cultural centers in Spain and abroad.
  • Present the University's project to communities, mosques, collaborating entities and potential donors.
  • Coordinate visits, talks, presentations and fundraising campaigns at mosques, Islamic centers and community events.
  • Travel within Spain and, when necessary, outside Spain for presentations, meetings, events and fundraising campaigns.
  • Prepare messages, proposals and basic materials for donation campaigns.
  • Coordinate specific campaigns for scholarships, campuses, reforms, academic programs, events and institutional projects.
  • Organize face-to-face and online University events.
  • Coordinate open houses, campus tours, family meetings, student meetings and community events.
  • Support the organization of conferences, seminars, graduations, charity dinners, Ramadan campaigns and institutional meetings.
  • Coordinate teams of volunteers for events and campaigns.
  • Maintain an organized database of donors, collaborators, assistants, volunteers, mosques, Islamic centers and relevant contacts.
  • Follow up on commitments, donations, acknowledgements and subsequent communications.
  • Prepare basic reports on campaigns, events, attendance, results, communities visited and future needs.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Social Media and Audiovisual for the dissemination of campaigns and events.
  • Coordinate with the Administration for the correct recording of donations, receipts and financial data.
  • Coordinate with the Rector's Office to prepare meetings with donors, institutional visits and project presentations.
  • To take care of the experience of the people who approach the University, from the first contact to their integration as collaborators, donors or members of the community.

Requirements

  • Good oral and written communication skills in Spanish.
  • Ability to deal with donors, families, students, volunteers, mosques, Islamic communities and collaborating entities.
  • Ability to present projects in a clear, motivating and professional manner.
  • Availability to travel within Spain and, when necessary, outside Spain.
  • Ability to organize events and activities.
  • Ability to follow up on contacts, commitments and tasks.
  • Order in the management of databases, lists, forms and records.
  • Good institutional judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to work as a team with the Rector's Office, Administration, Communication and other areas.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the University.
  • Availability to attend events, meetings and face-to-face activities in Seville when necessary.

The following will be valued

  • Previous experience in fundraising, fundraising, community relations, events, volunteerism or non-profit organizations.
  • Experience organizing fundraisers at mosques, Islamic centers, Muslim communities or religious events.
  • Good relationship with or knowledge of mosques, Islamic associations and Muslim communities in Spain.
  • Experience organizing charity dinners, conferences, donation campaigns, educational activities or religious/cultural events.
  • Knowledge of the context of the Muslim community in Spain and Europe.
  • Experience in customer service, institutional relations or volunteer coordination.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Google Sheets, CRM, forms, email marketing platforms or contact management systems.
  • Knowledge of English and/or Arabic.
  • Ability to prepare simple project presentations for donors.
  • Experience in Ramadan campaigns, zakat, sadaqah, educational scholarships or community projects.
  • Sensitivity to communicate economic needs in a dignified, transparent and motivating manner.
