The past September 20, 2026, Young Muslims of Ceuta (JMC) and the Al-Andalusia University and Higher Education Institute They held an event in Ceuta that brought together the people of Ceuta to learn about history, engage in spiritual reflection, and further their education.

The event was attended by the Sheikh Muhammad Idrissi, who gave a talk on the figure of Abu Abdallah Muhammad al-Idrisi, a renowned cartographer from Ceuta, and provided an opportunity to present Al-Andalusia’s educational and academic project to the attendees.

The Legacy of Al-Idrissi, the Focus of the Event

One of the main themes of the conference was the figure of Al-Idrisi, one of the leading figures in medieval cartography and a figure closely associated with the history of Ceuta.

Through his example, the event offered attendees the opportunity to gain insight into a part of the city’s historical and intellectual heritage, delving deeper into the legacy of a figure whose influence has transcended his era.

The participation of the Sheikh Muhammad Idrissi He also noted a curious coincidence regarding the day, given that he shares both his first and last names with the famous cartographer from Ceuta.
