Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain is seeking to hire professors in the fields of Memorization of the Quran to support students in learning, reviewing, and reinforcing their memorization of the Quran.

The selected candidate will participate in memorization programs for children, youth, or adults, depending on the assigned area, helping students make steady, consistent, and accurate progress in their memorization, with special attention to pronunciation, fluency, discipline, review, and proper etiquette regarding the Quran.

This is a position of great religious and educational responsibility, one that is especially important for training students to love the Quran, memorize it correctly, review it regularly, and recite it with respect, precision, and spiritual presence.

Profile required

We are looking for someone with a strong command of the Quran, excellent recitation skills, patience, proper etiquette, teaching ability, and a commitment to Quranic education. The candidate must be able to guide students of various ages and skill levels, correcting them with precision yet also with compassion, motivation, and educational wisdom.

Main functions

  • Teach Quran memorization classes in person, online, or through a hybrid format.
  • Listen to the students recite what they have just memorized and review what they learned previously to prevent them from forgetting it.
  • Correct mistakes in pronunciation, fluency, vocalization, and recitation.
  • Support each student according to their level, pace, and ability.
  • Develop individual or group memorization and review plans.
  • Keep an organized record of each student's progress.
  • Coordinate with the Academic Administration, the Dean’s Office, and the Academic Coordination Office.
  • Report on attendance, progress, challenges, and issues.
  • Motivate students and help them stay on track.
  • Teaching proper etiquette through the Quran and respect for its recitation.
  • Work in coordination with Tajweed instructors as needed.
  • Attend academic or follow-up meetings as required.
  • Comply with the institution’s calendar, schedules, and internal procedures.

Requirements

  • Have memorized the entire Quran or a significant portion of it, depending on the program level.
  • Good recitation and a solid grasp of the basic rules of Tajweed.
  • Ability to listen, correct, and monitor memorization.
  • Experience teaching Quran memorization or a proven ability to do so.
  • Patience, perseverance, and a friendly attitude toward students.
  • Commitment to punctuality, attendance, and academic support.
  • Ability to work with children, youth, or adults, depending on the assigned program.
  • Good communication in Spanish.
  • Basic use of digital tools for online classes, if applicable.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the University.

The following will be valued

  • Iyázah in Quran recitation.
  • Complete memorization of the Quran.
  • Proficiency in the riwayah of Hafs, Warsh, or other recognized recitations.
  • Experience teaching hifdh to children, teenagers, or adults.
  • Experience with intensive Quran study programs.
  • Training in Tajweed, Qira'at, or Islamic Studies.
  • Ability to identify common mistakes in memorization and recitation.
  • Experience in teaching the Quran online.
  • Knowledge of Arabic.
  • Ability to motivate students who struggle with consistency.
  • Experience in Islamic schools, madrasas, mosques, or Islamic centers.
  • Pedagogical sensitivity when working with families and young students.
